Tufts Athletics has recently had the pleasure of working with David W. White & Son on a new synthetic turf field project as well as the resurfacing of an existing synthetic turf field that they originally constructed. Their willingness to work creatively within our budget to meet our needs and attention to detail provided us with outstanding facilities.
David W. White and Son acted as a Prime Contractor for our Kilby Gardner Hammond Athletic Field in Worcester, Massachusetts. Clark University was extremely pleased with, not only the athletic field installation, but also with the construction of the small garage on site, coordination with local utilities and communication with various neighborhood entities. DWWS’s project management staff, as well as field superintendents, were always available to answer questions and research value engineering opportunities related to our tight budget. Clark looks forward to working with DWWS in the future!
Our stadium renovation project was close to 6 years in the making. Years of planning went into the design, and when it came time to bid and build, we were thrilled David W. White & Son won the bid as they have a great reputation. With years of discussions and planning fresh in our minds, it was almost shocking to see how quickly and efficiently David, Phil, Rick, and their crews changed a decrepit facility and transformed it into a stunning final product. Phil was incredibly efficient, fair, and easy to work with as the PM, and Rick was an outstanding superintendent. The project was on budget and right on schedule. When we are ready for additional projects in the future, I will look to David White and his team again for their expertise without reservation.
The Town of Danvers found David W. White & Son to be an ideal team member for the construction of our completely new athletic complex at Danvers High School. The staff provided for the project were experts in athletic field construction, orchestrating an impressive fleet of heavy equipment and a multitude of tradesman with minimal disruption to the day-to-day activities at the High School just steps away. The Town was able to work with DWWS to identify numerous cost saving measures during construction resulting in significant savings for the Town. DWWS’s experience and willingness to collaborate with the owner allowed us to meet challenging site conditions and schedule constraints while ensuring a superior final product. The project was delivered on time, and within the Town’s appropriated budget. It is a facility that the whole community is extremely proud of.

I had the pleasure of working with David W. White & Son on replacing Phillips Academy’s Sorota Track. They brought a 30 year old track back to life for the school and the community. The track is now a source of pride for our athletics. We were thrilled with the final product. We encountered major soil remediation issues when unearthing the existing facility. David’s team was able to use their wealth of experience to help navigate us through this unforeseen condition to a solution that did not ruin our budget. They worked seamlessly with our in house staff and consultants. As a project manager I appreciated the attention and access to any member of the company including the owner.
